A local government legal service is seeking a Legal Officer in Norwich to provide legal support to their Planning Team. Legal Officer – Four Roles Available (9076). Permanent Contract – 37 hours per week, 31537 - 33699 per annum, Scale G, Norwich.
We are looking for Legal Officers to join nplaw to provide legal support to our Lawyers and Senior Legal Officers in the Planning Team. nplaw is a public sector shared legal service with extensive experience in advising local government, the public sector and charities. We deliver a wide range of specialist legal services and are looking for Legal Officers to help us deliver our broad portfolio of services.
As a Legal Officer you will assist in the provision of legal services to clients, including drafting and administering Traffic Regulation Orders, undertaking straightforward transactions and casework such as Tree Preservation Orders s278 and s106 agreements. You will attend meetings, draft work closely with Lawyers and Senior Legal Officers on cases, and interact directly with clients to ensure a high degree of customer service. Eligibility requires demonstrable experience in a legal environment or a legal qualification such as a law degree, CILEx Level 3 qualification (or working towards it) or a similar qualification. Applicants should have a good knowledge of law or a willingness to learn new subjects, first‑class communication and organisational skills, and a desire to develop professionally. Training and support will be provided.
