Job summary

A leading legal firm is hiring a Legal Counsel to join their in-house team, offering a diverse role for a 1 to 3 PQE Commercial Lawyer. This opportunity allows you to work on various commercial law matters, including contract negotiations and compliance issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in both private practice and in-house settings. This hybrid position requires 3 days in the Midlands office and 2 days working from home, providing flexibility in a dynamic legal environment.

Qualifications

A rare & exciting Legal Counsel opportunity has come up for a 1 to 3 PQE Commercial Lawyer, within an instantly recognisable brand in the sports sector.

Responsibilities

The role is working within a well-established in house legal team and provides the opportunity to assist on a wide variety of commercial law matters such as:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Advising on marketing, advertising, sponsorship & partnership agreements
  • Advising on employment, disputes, intellectual property
  • Advising on risk & compliance matters including GDPR and regulatory
  • Managing key internal stakeholders

The opportunity is appropriate for a lawyer currently working in private practice and seeking to make the move in house for the first time in a hugely popular sector, or, for an in-house lawyer who is seeking a more varied workload & exposure than in their current role.

Personality wise, it is key that you are a self-starter, able to build relationships with key internal stakeholders, and be willing and able to pick up the varied legal matters that will cross your desk.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week required in the Midlands office, with 2 days working from home.
