Legal Business Partner - Networks & Connections (Electricity Transmission)

Location: Warwick (Hybrid - typically 2 days in office) Salary: Competitive + Benefits

Do you want to help shape the legal and regulatory framework that underpins the future of the UK energy sector? Are you ready to influence Connections Reform, drive change in energy infrastructure, and support the transition to a sustainable future?

We’re looking for an innovative, commercially minded lawyer to join our Electricity Transmission (ET) business as Legal Business Partner for Networks and Connections. In this strategic role, you will:

  • Provide expert legal advice on customer connections and network design.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders internally and externally, including NESO, Ofgem, and DESNZ.
  • Report directly to the General Counsel of ET, joining the UK Legal Senior Leadership Team.
  • Lead a small team and act as a trusted advisor to the ET Executive team on a range of legal matters.
What you'll be getting up to
  • A key port of call for the ET Executive team for connections and networks related commercial legal advice.
  • Advising on customer connections, including Connections Reform and other related industry reforms
  • Working alongside the ET General Counsel and [ET Senior Counsel] in delivering the NGET Legal team objectives and a key member and contributor in the ET/SI Legal Senior Leadership team
  • Responsible for delivering first‑class legal advice and steering, developing, and delivering appropriate legal strategy for a wide variety of NGET contractual and commercial arrangements including projects and customer connections.
  • Identifying and working with NGET and the UK Legal team in the implementation of continuous improvement to deliver ongoing improvements in business performance
  • Using your skills and knowledge to develop and implement our GC of the Future digital and technology plans.
  • A key contributor to the NGET business critical matters such as network planning and connections reform, providing related legal advice.

Salary between £,86.000 p.a. and £102,000 p.a. depending on experience.

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance with on target being 20% (with a maximum of 40%) and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
