Job description

We are looking for a qualified solicitor to join our team as either aLecturerorSenior Lecturerin our Clinical Legal Education team at theMoorgateCampus.

Reporting into our Academic Management Team you will be providing tuition across The University of Law course portfolio including the LLM Bar Pro Bono, QWE, Delegates from the commercial sectors, LPC, SQE, BPC, Law Conversion Programmes (PGDL and MAL), LLM in Legal Practice, LLB, Professional Skills Course/Professional Development, Academic Masters courses and/or other University courses to the best possible standard. The role may also involve conducting the Higher Rights of Audience approved assessments.

Areas of Interest

Housing, General Litigation, Welfare Benefits, Family, and Property Litigation

We expect the successful candidate will have around 3 years’ post-qualification experience or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and skills.

Teaching Responsibilities
  • Deliver high quality teaching and support for learning, including communication with other academics for the continuous improvement of teaching and student support
  • Identify the need for developing the content, structure, assessment within modules with colleagues and make proposals on how this should be achieved
  • Contribute to effective design and review of inclusive learning. Maintain quality standards and regulations in curricular design
  • Act as a module tutor, academic coach and sign-post students on pastoral aspects
Candidate Profile
  • Sufficient breadth and depth of professional experience in the relevant discipline to develop teaching programmes and learning support
  • Professional, credible, commands respect
Lecturer Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or equivalent or willingness to work towards
  • Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards PGCHE

Note: If you do not currently hold this, it is a requirement of the University that you will enrol into the programme (delivered and financially supported by the University), usually within 12 months of passing probation.

Senior Lecturer Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA)
  • Relevant teaching qualification
