Lecturer in Sustainable Technologies for the Built Environment

The School of the Built Environment is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Lecturer to enhance teaching capability and course leadership in the area of engineering mathematics, information and communications technology (ICT), power systems and the management of energy systems. Teaching responsibilities will include core contributions to the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, specifically including the MEng/BEng in Architectural Engineering and Masters programmes in Renewable Energy: Technology and Sustainability and Design and Management of the Built Environment.

The appointment will complement areas of existing strength in other aspects of energy, sustainability, engineering applications and systems within the built environment. We anticipate the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate research scholarship by developing a publication record in their area of specialist expertise. Opportunities are also available to engage in research within a unique interdisciplinary research environment. Areas of research activity within the Department are wide-ranging, currently including building and urban environmental quality; urban green infrastructure;energy system behaviours as related to building scale energy demands and aligns with issues of energy and/or environmental engineering in the context of the built environment.

The School of the Built Environment is internationally renownedfor its research and educationrelating to the design, construction and operation of the buildings and places within which we live, work and play. We have a strong orientation towards interdisciplinary 'real-world' problems and have a proud track record of active engagement with the professions.
