Location: Wakefield College

Join our exciting team of Computing Lecturers and help shape the future of digital technology! We are looking for a Lecturer in Computing with a specialism in T Level delivery to join our Computing and Digital Industries department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to pass on your knowledge and industry experience to the next generation of digital professionals.

As a Lecturer in Computing, you will lead our T Level provision while contributing to other Further and Higher Education courses. You will be instrumental in the development and organisation of the curriculum, ensuring an excellent student experience, high retention, and outstanding achievement.

You will also develop, plan, and quality assure our T Level pathways, specifically focusing on the Digital Software Development and Digital Support and Security courses.

We looking for an enthusiastic professional with high standards who is fully committed to student potential. The successful candidate must be a collaborative team player with a flexible, adaptable approach.

Key responsibilities
  • Hold a degree in Computing, IT, or a related discipline.
  • Ideally have experience teaching in an FE or HE environment.
  • Be skilled in working with 16–18-year-olds across a variety of computing subjects.
  • Have a strong understanding of the T Level framework and assessment methods.
Required skills
  • Software Development: Proficiency in Python, Java, or C#, alongside Git version control and Agile methodologies.
  • Web & Mobile: Experience in full-stack development, including HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and mobile application frameworks.
  • Systems & Infrastructure: Knowledge of physical and virtual environments, including cloud services and network configuration.
  • Cyber Security: Practical experience in threat mitigation, cryptography, and implementing security controls to protect digital assets.
  • Testing & Implementation: Ability to teach robust software testing, maintenance, and the legal/ethical implications of data use.
