Overview

Are you a qualified Carpentry Lecturer or do you have excellent experience in the carpentry industry? If so, this could be the role for you. This is an exciting opportunity for a Carpenter to work in an educational setting, sharing knowledge and skills with the next generation to ensure our students are prepared for the world of work and qualified to industry requirements. The School of Construction, at our Hemel Hempstead Campus, is looking for a lecturer to work either full-time or part-time using their industry knowledge to help our budding Carpenters excel within practical and theory environments.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess young adults across Level 1 and 2 qualifications as well as adult part-time and apprenticeship programmes.
  • Deliver Carpentry courses with emphasis on practical and theoretical learning, working with employers to develop students and their skills.
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team and contribute ideas to the role; participate in training and development to upskill.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Relevant skills and industry-standard qualifications in carpentry.
  • Enthusiasm for helping people of all ages and abilities to achieve their potential.
  • Teaching qualification is desirable but not essential; training can be provided. Assessor and/or IQA qualifications would be advantageous but can be gained as part of the role if not held.
