A leading Further Education college in the UK is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer in Art & Design to develop and deliver high-quality teaching for Level 3 students. This role involves coordination of the curriculum and fostering a professional attitude among students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Art & Design and a passion for innovative education. Benefits include hybrid working and professional development opportunities.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, inspiring, and innovative Lecturer in Art & Design to join our School of Creative and Service Industries on a fixed term basis. This role will focus on the delivery, development, and coordination of our Level 3 Art & Design provision, ensuring high‑quality teaching, learning, and assessment that enables students to explore, experiment, and achieve their full creative potential. You will work closely with colleagues across the Art, Graphics, and wider Creative team to design and deliver a dynamic curriculum experience that reflects contemporary industry practice. This includes supporting learners to develop strong conceptual thinking, technical skills across a range of traditional and digital disciplines, and a professional attitude that prepares them for progression to Higher Education, apprenticeships, or employment within the creative and cultural industries.
We pride ourselves on our dedication to safeguarding all students. To do so, we follow a strict vetting process whereby any offer of employment will be subject to the appropriate checks. Once again, it is an offence to apply if you believe you are a person who is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. To read more information in relation to the DBS Code of Practice, please see below: DBS code of practice – www.gov.uk. CVs will not be accepted, please submit your application via the application portal.
We welcome applicants with a strong Art & Design background, and particularly value experience or working knowledge of the wider creative fields such as Interiors, Fashion, Textiles, Fashion Retail, Illustration, or other design‑focused disciplines. While these areas are not essential, an appreciation of how they connect into broader creative practice will enrich the curriculum and enhance students' understanding of pathways across the creative sector. You will be passionate about art, design, and creative education, bringing energy, curiosity, and innovative teaching approaches to the studio environment. With a strong belief in the transformative power of creativity, you will inspire students to take bold creative risks, develop their portfolios, and build the confidence and industry‑informed behaviours they need for the next stage of their creative journey.
