The Role

We’re seeking a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work closely with students in our Mechanics and Construction departments. You’ll provide in-class and one-to-one support to learners with a variety of additional needs, helping them to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Support students during practical and theory lessons
  • Adapt materials and break down tasks to suit individual learning needs
  • Work closely with tutors and support teams to track progress
  • Promote independence, confidence, and a positive learning attitude
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
  • A patient, approachable and flexible attitude
  • Experience supporting young people (in education or other settings)
  • An interest or background in construction, mechanics, or related trades
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Knowledge of EHCPs or working with learners with SEN
  • Experience using support strategies for neurodiverse learners
  • Level 2 or 3 Support qualifications (or willingness to work towards)
