Te Kōmanawa Rowley School is seeking a passionate learning support coordinator (LSC) to join our team from the beginning of 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference for learners, teachers, and whānau, while strengthening inclusive practices across our kura.

This role is classroom released: 0.5 FTE as LSC and 0.5 FTE as a specialist teacher for ORS-funded students. At the heart of this position is ensuring every learner is recognised, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting students by identifying needs early, coordinating IEPs, and providing culturally responsive support that honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Building teacher capability through collaboration, professional learning, and strong links with ECE and external specialists.
  • Engaging whānau by creating genuine partnerships where their voices guide decisions for their children.
  • Connecting with other LSCs, the Ministry of Education, and agencies to access services and resources.
  • Influencing school-wide systems, strengthening inclusion, and contributing to a culture where equity and belonging are central.
Qualifications
  • Is a registered NZ teacher with a current practising certificate.
  • Has proven experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Can confidently engage at a leadership level and influence practice across the school.
  • Builds strong, respectful relationships with students, staff, whānau, and external agencies.
  • Brings cultural responsiveness and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
