At Masterclass, we are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant for a wonderful mainstream primary school in the Shoreham-by-Sea area. They provide a happy and safe environment where the children can thrive in their education. They have an amazing outdoor area to expand the children's learning outside the classroom setting, and a forest and beach school which allows the children to explore new environments whilst receiving the very best education during their primary years.

The school are looking for someone to work and support a young child in year 1, who has additional needs. You would be supporting them in and out of formal lessons with the support of the class teacher. You will be fully immersed into the life of the school and encouraged to be proactive in your role alongside your colleagues.

Masterclass Education provide CPD-recognised online training, covering subjects such as Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Understanding Child Development, Violence Reduction, and more, to all our candidates.

Job role
  • To support the children's development across all areas of their development
  • Support and encourage positive behaviour management
  • Work with groups of children or individuals (1-1) to support the class teacher in specific lessons
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment enabling children to feel relaxed and happy
  • To establish positive relationships with the children and staff within the school
  • To be committed to inclusive practice and making sure every child has the chance to be the best they can be
  • To be able to provide personal care if needed
