Learning Support Assistant (Early Years Qualified) – KS1 team Specialist Education Setting – Chelmsford. Temp-to-Perm Opportunities Available. Full time, 5 days a week.

Are you passionate about supporting young children with additional needs? Do you have an Early Years Practitioner or Nursery Nurse qualification and a nurturing, can-do attitude? We’re looking for dedicated LSAs to join our friendly and highly supportive KS1 team in our specialist provision in Chelmsford.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping our pupils thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with experienced teachers and other professionals, you will provide tailored support to children with a range of special educational needs, helping to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support within our KS1 classes
  • Assist in delivering differentiated learning activities
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and sensory needs
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Engage positively with pupils, families, and the wider school team
What We’re Looking For
  • Early Years Practitioner qualification or Nursery Nurse qualification (essential)
  • Experience working with children in Early Years, KS1, or SEN settings
  • A patient, caring, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
