Learning Support Assistant

Term Time only — 32.5 hours per week (8.30 am to 3.30 pm).

Actual Salary £19,351 + £1,200 Personal Care Allowance. Grade 6 Point 7.

Arthur Mellows is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic, friendly and supportive team. The successful candidate will enjoy working with young people and play a key role in supporting students within the College. They will be a caring, creative, proactive and enthusiastic individual with the ability to support high quality teaching and raise attainment for students across various curriculum areas.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to help students thrive academically, emotionally and socially.
  • Provide support in classrooms, in small groups, or on a one-to-one basis to help students understand lessons.
  • Move around the College to support students with their education.
  • Deliver personal care for physically disabled students as required; demonstrate good physical and emotional resilience.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Good standard of written and spoken English and Maths.
  • Empathetic, adaptable, and able to work under pressure; able to solve challenges as they arise.
