Role Overview

As a Learning Support professional in Crewe, you'll work closely with students in either primary or secondary school settings, helping them with both their academic and emotional development. You'll provide vital support to students with SEN and SEMH challenges, assisting them in engaging more effectively with their education and overcoming personal barriers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN and SEMH needs, helping them meet both academic and personal goals.
  • Assist teachers with delivering lessons and classroom activities that support students with complex needs.
  • Use positive behaviour strategies to manage challenging situations and maintain a calm and productive classroom environment.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with the wider school team to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Support students in overcoming personal barriers to learning, whether academic, social, or emotional.
Who We're Looking For
  • Has experience working with young people in learning support, youth work, sports coaching, or similar roles.
  • Has a background in SEN, psychology, sports coaching, or a related field, with an understanding of behavioural, emotional, and special educational development.
  • Has experience in primary or secondary education, or has transferable skills from other roles (e.g., care, youth support, social work).
  • Possesses a calm and patient approach to supporting students, with the ability to manage difficult situations in a constructive way.
  • Is passionate about helping young people with SEN and SEMH needs overcome their challenges and reach their potential.
