Overview
Kettle's Yard is recruiting Learning Hosts to support the delivery of our Learning and Community programme. Learning Hosts welcome school, college and community groups to the house and gallery as well as participants for events and workshops. They ensure Learning and Community activities are safe, engaging, accessible and inspiring.
Responsibilities
- Work at both the Castle Street location and offsite in community settings.
- Welcome groups and participants, promoting engaging, accessible and safe learning experiences.
- Collaborate with the Learning & Community team; liaise closely with the Learning and Engagement Coordinator; report to the Community Manager.
- Support and contribute to the delivery of the Learning and Community programme through research and active engagement with the collection and exhibitions.
Working Arrangements
- The role is on a zero-hour basis due to irregular visits, projects and sessions. Hours will be agreed and scheduled in advance with potential work offered across all days, including weekends and occasional evenings.
- We are particularly looking for candidates available on our school visit days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Pay and Benefits
- Pay supplement: In addition to the base salary, the successful candidate will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay, paid until the conclusion of the Cambridge Pay Review Project.
About Kettle's Yard
Kettle's Yard is the University of Cambridge's modern and contemporary art gallery. It was founded in 1957 by Jim and Helen Ede. It consists of a house with a collection of modern art and a gallery that presents a diverse programme of modern and contemporary art exhibitions. The programme includes concerts and a range of learning and community activities. The mission is to contribute to society by inspiring and engaging audiences through art, learning and research of the highest quality.
Contract and Eligibility
- Closing date: end of day, Monday 20 October.
- Interview dates: expected to take place during the week commencing 3 November.
- Fixed-term: funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.
