Learning Disability Social Worker, Redbridge

To provide high-quality social work services to adults with learning disabilities, ensuring their rights, independence, and well-being are promoted. The role involves working collaboratively with individuals, families, and multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver person‑centred care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment & Care Planning
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of individuals with learning disabilities in line with statutory requirements.
  • Develop and implement person‑centred care plans that promote independence and choice.
  • Safeguarding
  • Identify and manage safeguarding concerns, ensuring compliance with local and national safeguarding procedures.
  • Case Management
  • Manage a complex caseload, prioritising effectively and meeting deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with professional standards.
  • Multi‑Agency Working
  • Work collaboratively with health professionals, housing, education, and voluntary organisations to deliver integrated support.
  • Advocacy
  • Promote the rights and voice of individuals with learning disabilities, ensuring they are involved in decisions about their care.
  • Legal Compliance
  • Apply relevant legislation including Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding frameworks.
  • Professional Development
  • Participate in supervision, training, and continuous professional development activities.
