Learning & Development Consultant (L&D Consultant)
Base pay £45,000.00-50,000.00; hybrid working with occasional travel to Leicester and other UK sites.
As a Learning & Development Consultant, you will design, deliver and evaluate learning solutions that enhance employee performance and capability, focusing on core skills such as Customer Service, Sales, Change‑readiness, Management Development and Coaching.

Key Responsibilities
- Create engaging learning programs using adult learning principles, blended learning approaches and digital learning tools.
- Deliver interactive workshops and virtual sessions on topics such as customer experience excellence, sales techniques, communication skills, change‑readiness, management skills, and other core behaviours.
- Provide coaching to colleagues on career development, management approaches and performance improvement.
- Review, redesign and deliver Simplify’s group‑wide new‑joiner inductions.
- Support the People Development team in managing and increasing the apprenticeship provision across Simplify.
- Measure training effectiveness and adjust programs for maximum impact in partnership with the People Team.
- Partner with People Partners and business leaders to align learning initiatives with business goals and performance targets.
- Utilise Simplify’s LMS platforms to manage and track learning interventions and collaborate with the L&D Coordinator on digital content delivery.
Qualifications
- Experience working in an equivalent position within a large, multi‑site, fast‑paced private sector organisation.
- Instructional design skills – ability to create structured, engaging learning content.
- Facilitation skills – confident in delivering training to diverse audiences.
- Customer service expertise – deep understanding of service standards and customer experience principles.
- Sales training knowledge – skilled in coaching selling approaches, upselling and cross‑selling techniques.
- Communication and influence – strong interpersonal skills to engage learners and stakeholders.
- Management development experience – creation and delivery of high‑impact learning programmes.
- Analytical skills – ability to assess impact and ROI.
- Adaptability – comfortable working within a fast‑paced, ever‑changing culture.
- Willingness to travel to Leicester at least weekly, and to other UK sites as required.
Additional preferred experience: use of Learning Management Systems, digital learning tools, data analytics, project management skills, behavioural science knowledge and/or a strategy‑focused approach.

- If successful, an in‑person one‑hour interview at our Leicester head office, including a practical activity (delivery of a short session to a small group).
