SEMH Learning Coach – Long Term – £110 to £120 per Day – Essex

Location: Grays, Essex
Contract: Long term, term time only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6.5 hours per day
Start date: ASAP
Pay: £110 to £120 per day

We are recruiting an experienced SEMH Learning Coach for a long term school based role in Gray, Essex. This role focuses on supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, with a strong emphasis on improving engagement and performance in the classroom.

This is a stable opportunity for someone looking to build consistent relationships and make a meaningful impact on pupils' learning and behaviour.

The role:
  • Support pupils with SEMH needs within the classroom
  • Help pupils remain engaged, focused, and ready to learn
  • Provide one to one and small group support linked to classroom learning
  • Work closely with class teachers to support classroom performance
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Reinforce routines and expectations throughout the school day
  • Act as a consistent and trusted adult for pupils
Requirements:
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, behaviour, or additional needs
  • Experience supporting learning and classroom performance
  • Ability to work alongside teachers to support pupil engagement and progress
  • Confidence supporting pupils in class and through targeted interventions
  • Understanding of how SEMH needs impact learning outcomes
  • Strong communication and behaviour support skills
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Ability to commit to a long term placement

Experience as a Learning Coach, Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant, Pastoral Support Worker, or Youth Worker is highly desirable.
