Job description
Overview

The Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) East of England has an exciting opportunity for a Learning and Development Facilitator to join the team. The RRDN is part of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and is funded by the Department of Health and Social Care to support the country\'s health and care research system. Our vision is to enable the UK to be a global leader in high-quality, inclusive research that improves health and care, and our mission is to enable the health and care system to attract, optimise and deliver research across England. This role contributes to the RRDN workforce strategy and supports the regional development of the research delivery workforce across a range of roles, specialities and settings. The RRDN East of England is hosted by the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Implement shared national processes for commissioning, designing, delivering and evaluating learning.
  • Work with the Workforce and People Senior Manager to understand regional workforce needs and design and deliver solutions.
  • Act as a source of advice and guidance regarding research-related training.
  • Provide highly specialist advice on all aspects of the research process, interpreting legislative and regulatory requirements, and guiding researchers on fulfilling obligations.
  • Support the Workforce and People Senior Manager with the implementation of Workforce Development/Capacity and Capability initiatives across the network, including reporting and evaluation.
  • Serve as an effective facilitator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a thorough understanding of health and care research systems and processes.
  • Support regional training facilitators, demonstrating leadership in training delivery and facilitation, mentoring newer facilitators, evaluating performance and delivering constructive feedback.
  • Act as an ambassador for the RDN and wider NIHR, and contribute to annual planning and reporting with workforce and learning data and expertise.
  • Propose and inform key innovative opportunities to increase research delivery workforce capacity and capability across the RRDN.
  • Facilitate the accurate collection of workforce data as part of a shared national system to inform regional workforce planning with partners.
  • Provide day-to-day management and coordination of regional and, where appropriate, national programmes of learning and development, including design, delivery and evaluation.
