About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Learning & Development Consultant to play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of an evolving, organisation-wide Academy. The Academy has successfully delivered onboarding pathways for key operational roles and is now transitioning into a comprehensive centre of excellence for upskilling, learning, talent development and strategic capability building.
Working directly with the Director of Organisational Capability, the post holder will design the long-term blueprint for the Academy’s next phase — aligning future skills, digital capability, talent pathways, and organisational learning into a unified strategic offer. This is a strategic leadership role, focused exclusively on vision, integration and future‑readiness; operational delivery will remain with the existing L&D teams.

- Talent management frameworks
- Comprehensive onboarding pathways
- Define success measures, priorities and milestones to guide the Academy’s development.
Stakeholder Engagement & Influence
- Work closely with senior leaders to ensure alignment with organisational goals and future capability needs.
- Engage stakeholders across the organisation to gather insight, validate strategic ideas, and build consensus.
- Act as a strategic advisor, providing thought leadership on innovative L&D and talent development approaches.
Integration & Alignment
- Map existing learning and talent pathways, identifying opportunities for simplification and strategic alignment under a single Academy structure.
- Ensure the Academy delivers a seamless employee experience, supporting development from onboarding through to senior talent progression.
Strategic Communication
- Articulate the Academy’s future direction through high‑level presentations, briefing papers and strategy documents.
- Communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders, ensuring organisation‑wide understanding and buy‑in.
Digital Intelligence & Future Readiness
- Provide expert guidance on integrating emerging technologies, digital skills and future workforce capabilities into the Academy’s long‑term vision.
- Conduct horizon scanning, scenario planning and market research to ensure the Academy remains forward‑thinking and agile.
- Recommend frameworks and partnership opportunities that enhance the organisation’s ability to adapt to digital disruption.
- Propose success measures and strategic priorities for embedding digital intelligence into all learning and talent initiatives.
