Job description

Leakage Technician Multiple Vacancies

Role

Working on our South West water contract across Dorset, Somerset, Bath, Wiltshire, and Hampshire, you will have the option to work days or nights. A Leakage Technician is expected to undertake all aspects of leakage detection and related work streams.

You will need to demonstrate a thorough understanding of leakage control measures and the operation of a water distribution network. In addition to these core skills, you will:

  • Undertake advanced survey work and accurate pinpointing, planning, and deductive analysis in the detection of complex leaks.

  • Maintain strong Health & Safety awareness, ensuring the safety of colleagues, the public, and site personnel.

  • Understand the risks and impacts of leakage activities on customers, the public, and road users, and work in compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company standards.

  • Carry out risk assessments for your own tasks and any follow-on work.

  • Perform duties in compliance with hygiene, NRSWA (New Roads & Street Works Act), and environmental regulations.

  • Deliver excellent customer service in line with company policies, ensuring a right first time approach.

Essential Requirements

  • Significant leakage detection experience within the water sector

  • NHW (National Water Hygiene) and NRSWA Streetworks accreditation

  • Experience/training in a similar utilities-based industry

  • IT skills and computer literacy

  • Excellent customer service skills, with confidence in face-to-face interactions

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Salary: GBP27,000 GBP28,000 (depending on experience)

  • Minimum 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension (rolling review)
