Lead Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Remote working, with 1 day in every 2 weeks at our Stoke-On-Trent office (5 mins from station).

Our site reliability engineers (SREs) empower users with high availability, stellar performance, and a rich feature set to pursue their goals.

About the role:

This hands-on role involves working within the Software Engineering team to run the SRE function daily, collaborating closely with the Head of Engineering. You will review, lead, and drive strategic initiatives to enhance the maturity, security, performance, and scalability of our software and services across cloud infrastructure. You will have significant autonomy to shape the team’s future, leveraging your extensive skills in:

  • Site Reliability Engineering/DevOps/Infrastructure/Platform management
  • Development and deployment of APIs in containerized environments like Kubernetes
  • Implementing and enhancing Infrastructure as Code, specifically Terraform
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders in an agile environment
  • Leading, coaching, and mentoring team members
  • Working with AWS services, especially IAM, S3, EKS, Networking
  • Using CloudFormation/CDK
  • Experience with serverless computing
