Job summary

A leading health service provider in Bristol seeks an experienced Lead Radiographer to manage operations of the diagnostic imaging department. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality imaging services in areas such as MRI and CT, while mentoring staff and supporting the Radiology Manager. Job description
Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead Radiographer who will be responsible for the operational management of a part of the diagnostic imaging department ensuring the delivery of high-quality imaging services, and / or to be a speciality lead in a clinical area such as MRI, CT mammography, whilst supporting the Radiology Manager. You will have the relevant specialist knowledge with previous people management experience, good communication and IT skills, to help us build a healthier nation as a Lead Radiographer at our hospital.

About the Department

The Radiology department is a growing and busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, Mammography and MRI.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in departmental QA, audit and all aspects of mandatory training.
  • Scoping to develop policies and procedures as a clinical lead.
  • Deputise and support Radiology Manager.
  • Supervise and develop other members of staff, including mentoring students and perceptees.
  • Work in partnership supporting practitioners and other departments around the hospital.
  • See each patient as an individual and carry out this role with understanding and empathy.
  • Run the day‑to‑day operations of the radiology service and participate in clinical work.
Qualifications

You hold a BSC degree in diagnostic radiography (or equivalent), a postgraduate qualification and must be HCPC registered. You should have a working knowledge of IRMER, IRR and be able to undertake audits. Radiation Protection Supervisor training/qualification would be desirable.
