Lead Project Planner - Major Rail Programme Location: Manchester (with travel to York, min. 3 days per week) Contract: 12 months, Inside IR35 Day Rate: £531 (via approved umbrella)

We are seeking a Lead Project Planner to support a major UK rail infrastructure upgrade. The programme spans multiple disciplines and will deliver transformational improvements across the network.

Role Overview
  • Lead planning and scheduling for a large, complex rail programme.
  • Provide clear planning outputs and simplify schedules for reporting.
  • Support stakeholder engagement and embed access/delivery requirements.
  • Mentor and guide planning teams.
Essential Experience
  • Proven track record in planning and delivering major construction/engineering projects.
  • Strong expertise in proprietary scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera P6).
  • Experience in resource management and interpreting access plans.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of UK rail industry processes and systems.
  • A-level or equivalent in mathematics or IT-related subject.
Base

Manchester/York (minimum 3 days per week on site), with travel to regional offices as required.
