Our expert team creates the content and technology solutions that engage and empower modern leaders, using pioneering technology and creative content that we build, deliver and maintain. We’re passionate about customer success and our customers trust us to deliver long lasting value, a great return on investment and excellent customer service.

Learning Pool welcomes passionate people from all kinds of backgrounds. We are a diverse team working in offices, and remotely, across Europe and North America. We take great pride in our shared work and are committed to building great software in a sustainable way.

So if you’ve got what we’re looking for and the desire to join a team that values creativity and empowerment, then get in touch. This role offers an excellent opportunity to get involved in and become part of the world of online learning.

About the Role

As a Lead Product Designer at Learning Pool, you will set the bar for design excellence across one or more core product areas, shaping experiences that are intuitive, inclusive, elegant, and deeply aligned with customer needs. You will work as a senior member of a cross‑functional product team — partnering closely with Product Managers, Engineers, QA, and business stakeholders.

This is both a hands‑on and design leadership‑focused role. You will lead complex design initiatives end‑to‑end, influence product strategy through research and insight, and ensure our design quality, design systems, and customer understanding scale as our product and teams grow. You will help define how Learning Pool builds products — not just what we build.

You will play a key role in elevating our design culture, strengthening our design operations, and helping shape a cohesive, modern, and human‑centred product experience across our platform.

What You Will Be Doing
Roles and responsibilities include:
Roadmap & Delivery Support
  • Own the end‑to‑end design process—from discovery through delivery and iteration—ensuring solutions are grounded in user needs and technical feasibility
  • Actively participate in planning, sprint cycles, and technical discussions with Product Managers, Engineers, and QA
  • Support continuous improvement by refining design approaches, tools, and outputs
Discovery & Insight
  • Lead design for a major area of the product suite, providing clarity of vision, direction, and execution
  • Plan and conduct usability testing, user interviews, and discovery sessions to inform and validate design choices
  • Analyse both qualitative and quantitative insights to optimise user experiences post‑launch
  • Embed research as a consistent input to product thinking
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with cross‑functional peers to ensure alignment, delivery efficiency, and a shared understanding of customer needs
  • Present and explain design decisions clearly, linking them to business and user value
  • Advocate for design thinking within cross‑functional teams
Product Communications
  • Produce clear, compelling deliverables including user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high‑fidelity visuals
  • Maintain and evolve shared design systems and standards to ensure consistency and scalability across the product suite
Innovation & Growth
  • Design inclusively, ensuring accessibility standards (WCAG) are met
  • Contribute to shaping Learning Pool’s design culture—sharing insights, encouraging feedback, and championing user‑first approaches
Who we are looking for
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Design experience: You will have 5+ years of hands‑on experience in UX/UI or Product Design roles, including at least 1–2 years in a senior or lead position, ideally within SaaS or digital product environments.
  • Qualifications and learning: You will hold a degree or have equivalent experience in Product Design, UX, HCI, or a related discipline, with a strong commitment to continuous professional development through courses, design communities, or industry events. Relevant UX or Product Design certifications are welcome but not essential.
  • End‑to‑end design capability: You will have proven ability to deliver design work across the full product lifecycle — from discovery and validation through to delivery, testing, and iteration — with clear ownership of design outcomes in a senior capacity.
  • Interaction and visual design: You will have advanced interaction and visual design skills, with exceptional attention to usability, accessibility, craft, and visual polish.
  • Design tools: You will be highly proficient in modern design and collaboration tools such as Figma and Miro, and confident presenting design concepts, rationale, and solutions to stakeholders at all levels.
  • User‑centred design: You will have extensive experience working in agile, cross‑functional teams, applying user research and insights to inform and validate design decisions, and advocating for user needs across the organisation.
  • Accessibility and responsiveness: You will have a strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG), responsive design principles, and localisation considerations, ensuring inclusive design across platforms.
  • Behaviours and mindset: You will bring an empathetic, user‑centred approach, balancing quality with delivery in fast‑moving environments. You will be collaborative, feedback‑driven, pragmatic, iterative, and committed to continuous improvement and team success.
