Job description

Our client supervises the island's financial services businesses, including financial institutions and designated non-financial businesses. The Lead Infrastructure Engineer will play a pivotal role in this oversight, focusing on both on-premises and Azure cloud platforms to ensure that core systems remain secure, reliable, and performant. This is a permanent position, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week. The chosen individual will design, implement, and support infrastructure services essential for the regulator's effective operation and compliance with regulatory obligations. This role combines hands‑on engineering with team leadership, problem‑solving, and collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Manager of Service Delivery within the Technology and Data division. The individual in this role will also be expected to manage a team of infrastructure analysts, fostering a culture of high performance and innovation.

Job Duties:
  • Deliver stable, secure, and high‑availability infrastructure to ensure business continuity and protect organisational data.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Azure solutions for a future‑ready cloud architecture that supports innovation and growth.
  • Plan and execute cloud migration and modernisation initiatives to mitigate legacy system risks and position the organisation for digital transformation.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code to improve consistency, automation, and repeatability.
  • Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise infrastructure services to enhance system performance and minimise incidents.
  • Collaborate closely with Cyber Security and risk teams to ensure infrastructure designs and operations meet security, compliance, audit, and data protection expectations.
  • Manage and oversee third‑party suppliers to ensure vendor accountability, cost control, and quality of service to colleagues.
  • Actively contribute to and maintain technical documentation for continuity, knowledge sharing, and compliance audits.
  • Develop, lead, and manage a team of infrastructure analysts, providing direction and motivation for alignment with organisational goals.

  • Extensive expertise in Microsoft infrastructure and Azure solutions.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and Service Transition.
  • Commitment to maintaining up‑to‑date Microsoft certifications, demonstrating adaptability to evolving technologies.
