Job description
Purpose of the Role/Role Overview

We are seeking a lead gas engineer/ supervisor to join our busy heating service & repair team. This role is a pivotal role that contributes to the delivery of efficient and effective heating system surveys and installations for our clients. The individual will be the driving force in conducting in-depth assessments of commercial properties, ensuring all heating solutions recommended meet regulatory standards and align with the customer's needs and budget considerations. The role demands a combination of technical expertise, customer service, and attention to detail.

  • Supervise and lead a team of skilled commercial gas engineers, ensuring works are carried out to the highest standards of safety and compliance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for all aspects of commercial gas engineering, including installation, maintenance, fault finding, and repairs.
  • Champion excellent communication across the team and with clients to guarantee strong customer satisfaction throughout all projects.
  • Plan and allocate work efficiently, ensuring successful multitasking and timely completion of multiple assignments.
  • Act as the main point of contact for complex technical issues, using robust problem-solving abilities to resolve challenges on site.
  • Ensure compliance with current gas safety regulations and company procedures, delivering services with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment whilst demonstrating effective leadership skills and a resilient approach to challenges.
  • Serve as an ambassador for Sureserve, prioritising customer service excellence with every client interaction.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Fully qualified in commercial gas engineering (ACS or equivalent), with demonstrable experience in a supervisory or senior engineer role.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial gas systems, relevant legislation, and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, suited to interacting with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing teams and supporting professional development.
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities and a resilient attitude towards resolving technical and operational challenges.
  • Excellent multitasking and organisational skills, able to oversee multiple projects and priorities.
  • Demonstrable attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively within a diversified workforce.
  • Customer-focused with a track record of delivering outstanding service.
Working Conditions
  • Field-based with regular meetings and remote coordination.
  • Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am till 5pm with 1 hour for lunch.
