Job summary

An automotive component manufacturer is seeking a Lead Engineer to supervise design and product engineering. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive interior design and a degree in engineering. This position offers a salary of £63,000 - £65,000 and hybrid work flexibility, with 3 days on-site and 2 days from home.

  • Knowledge of drawings, geometry and reference systems.

Job description

An automotive component manufacturer who are going through a period of growth require a Lead Engineer to control the engineering design activity ensuring the most appropriate application of resources towards the internal and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive interior design and knowledge of technical skills such as GD&T, DFM, DFA, DVA, FEA and FMEA.

Commutable from: Redditch, Coventry, Solihull, Birmingham, Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, Leamington Spa, Worcester, Kidderminster, Stourbridge

Salary: £63,000 - £65,000 CIRCA

Flexibility: Hybrid working 3 days on site 2 days from home

Suitable for: Lead Engineer, Project Engineer, Manufacturing Project Engineer, Tooling Engineer, CAD Engineer, Project Manager, Senior Design Engineer, Dimensional Engineer

The Role

Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will have the following duties:

-Supervising design, lead and product engineering.
-Design according to the customer requirements and specifications.
-Support tool timing, trials and tool sign off.
-Assure a flawless introduction for New Product Introduction (NPI)

The Person

Educated to degree level in automotive, plastics or mechanical engineering discipline you will have the following experience:

-Extensive experience in automotive interior design.
-Cradle to grave project management experience.
-Basic CATIA knowledge to perform feasibility studies.
-Knowledge of drawings, geometry and reference systems.
-A good understanding of job related technical skills including GD&T, DFM DFA, DVA, FEA and FMEA.
