Overview

Sanctuary Personnel has a permanent Lead Education Child Protection Practitioner role, full-time, based in Redbridge. Salary up to £53,607 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • possess the authority, confidence, and experience to make autonomous decisions in challenging and complex family situations.
  • produce high-quality reports reflecting education expertise that can stand alone as expert assessments in forums including initial child protection conferences and court.
  • apply understanding of what constitutes actual or likely significant harm to a child, considering severity, duration, frequency of abuse, threat, coercion, or cruelty, and the child’s wider context.
  • share thinking and insight with other practitioners, propose recommendations, and participate in joint deliberations before deciding on the likelihood of significant harm.
  • support planning around a child’s attendance at conferences when appropriate, liaising between education establishments and the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team.
  • ensure education reports are shared in advance with the family and professional network; provide oversight and advice to the education practitioner attending conferences; attend on behalf of education when no named practitioner is available.
  • assist in making recommendations on the category of abuse or neglect and primary concerns for the child protection plan.
  • oversee the education role in delivery and participation of all child protection plans, ensuring actions are completed and providing consultation and support as needed.
  • monitor the effectiveness of the child protection conference, the progression of the Child Protection Plan, and the education role within arrangements.
Requirements
  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Registered or eligible for registration.
