A prominent NHS Trust in Scarborough is looking for a Lead Clinician to take charge of clinical leadership and service development. This role involves ensuring high-quality standards, developing clinical services, and working closely with operational management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing Trust policies and will have a firm commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork. A registration on the Specialist register is essential for this role. Opportunities for professional growth and impact within the Trust are significant.
The role of the Lead Clinician is to have responsibility for the clinical leadership, service development, quality, and performance of their specialty. The Lead Clinician provides strategic direction for the specialty and contributes to service planning and clinical governance. They will work closely with their medical colleagues within this specialty and operational and nursing management within the Care Group.
Appointments will normally be made for a period of no less than three years and will be subject to the agreement of the Medical Director.
The work of the Lead Clinician will be identified within the individual’s job plan, where responsibility payment and any compensatory reduction in other work will also be made clear.
Candidates must be aware of the organisation's expectation for them to be prepared to work across any of the Hospital sites where it is a requirement of their service or where departments are integrated across the different hospital sites. Planned activity will be agreed within an individual’s job plan.
