• Ideally have 12 months recent experience driving.
• Previous transport office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive safely and efficiently following regulations.
• Comply with health and safety standards.
• Curtain side pick-up and possibly flatbed trailer work.
• Get drivers onto the roads for delivery starting at 6am.
• Deputise for the First Line Manager until they arrive.
• Provide office cover if needed.

Pay Rate: £39,000 to £40,000 (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift patterns: Any Five from Seven starting at 6am (48 working hour week)
Location: Unit 2 Segro Park, Maynard Road, Kettering, Northamptonshire, NN15 5ZS

We're now looking for a Lead Class 1 HGV Driver:

play a key role ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently, delivering goods safely and on time.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE?

• Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Complying with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations
• Curtain side pick up and can include Flatbed trailer work as well
• Onsite from 6am get the drivers onto the roads ready for delivery
• Deputising for the First Line Manager until they arrive at 8/8:30
• Potentially required to provide office cover in the FLM's absence (i.e annual leave)

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO?

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (C), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Ideally have 12 months recent driving experience
• Previous work within transport office
• Previous Experience as a Transport Controller or Supervisor
