Job description

Responsibilities

• To undertake, provide and assist in the management of Social Care legal services to the Council, specifically debt recovery in connection with these service areas;
• To represent the Council in legal and quasi legal proceedings in negotiations and generally in its relations with outside bodies and the public.
• To ensure robust legal management systems are in place and that all legal proceedings comply with the relevant legislative time scales;
• To actively assist in the case and file management systems adopted by the Legal Services department and ensure cases are kept up to date;
• To ensure the effective and efficient provision of Social Care Legal advice and assistance.
