Job summary

A respected care charity in Buckler's Park seeks a Laundry Assistant to ensure laundry is managed to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, managing laundry loads, and ensuring proper distribution of residents' clothing. The ideal candidate will have experience in a care environment and the ability to work unsupervised. Qualifications

  • Understanding of the importance of high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in care homes.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to manage basic documentation, e.g., marking on residents' clothing.
  • Desirable experience in care home environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure laundry is identified for appropriate loads.
  • Maintain laundry equipment and de-fluff dryer.
  • Keep soiled and infectious linen separate and washed accordingly.
  • Distribute clothes in residents' rooms.
  • Ensure correct marking of residents' clothes.
  • Maintain cleanliness in laundry room.

Skills

Understanding of cleanliness and hygiene

Home: Buckler’s Lodge

Location: Woodcote Green, Crowthorne, RG45 6HZ

Pay details: £12.73 per hour

Hours: Full time and Part time hours available

Shifts: 8am-2pm Early with expectation to work every other weekends
2pm-8pm Late with expectation to work every other weekends

As a Laundry Assistant, you will:
  • To ensure that laundry is identified for appropriate loads
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of the laundry equipment and the daily de‑fluffing of the dryer, reporting any defects to the senior member of staff on duty.
  • To ensure that soiled and infectious linen is kept separate and washed accordingly
  • To distribute clothes into the residents rooms
  • To ensure the correct marking of the residents clothes
  • To keep the laundry room and store area tidy, clean and hygienic

  • Understands COSHH regulations (Desirable)Experience working in care home environment as Domestic or similar (Desirable)
