Large Loss Claims Handler

Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, with hybrid working in Newcastle. The salary is £55,000 - £67,000 DOE.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading Complex Investigations: Taking ownership of intricate personal injury claims, applying expertise to assess liability, quantum, and indemnity with precision and care.
  • Building Reinsurer Relationships: Managing reinsurer-reportable claims, supporting audits, and contributing to presentations that showcase expertise.
  • Driving Strategic Outcomes: Resolving claims efficiently, balancing cost, speed, and fairness using commercial insight and tactical thinking.
  • Owning Your Portfolio: Proactively managing caseload, staying ahead of deadlines and service level agreements while maintaining control of each claim's lifecycle.
  • Negotiating with Confidence: Engaging with third parties to secure fair and cost-effective settlements, protecting customer interests and business outcomes.
Requirements:

  • Proven success managing personal injury claims valued between £500k-£1m
  • Strong understanding of litigation, Civil Procedure Rules, and rehabilitation codes
  • Commercial awareness and sound decision-making skills
