A leading veterinary practice in Milton Keynes seeks an experienced small-animal vet with at least five years of practice. The role offers clinical freedom, a collaborative environment, and opportunities for professional growth. The practice focuses on high standards of care, includes comprehensive facilities, and provides a competitive salary along with quarterly bonuses and extensive CPD support. There are no night duties, with a typical four-day work week and benefits including enhanced maternity pay and lifestyle perks.
My clients are searching for an experienced small‑animal vet, ideally with at least five years in practice, who is ready for a role that combines clinical freedom, high standards, genuine teamwork and the chance to grow. Whether you already hold a certificate or are working toward one, they are happy to recognise and reward that level of commitment. Salaries typically fall between £55,000 and £65,000 depending on experience, with additional earning potential for certificate holders, AVPs and through an established bonus scheme.
The practice sits in Milton Keynes, close to fast rail links and within easy reach of Luton Airport. But what truly sets them apart is their ethos. They care deeply about patients, colleagues and the quality of the work. They are practical, supportive and collaborative—no egos, no hierarchy, just a team that enjoys working together and takes pride in continual improvement.
This is an especially exciting moment to join them, as they began an expansion in July 2025, is transforming the way they work. The project includes a state‑of‑the‑art dental suite, advanced imaging room and CT suite, alongside larger wards for cats and dogs, an expanded office and a colleague area designed to be genuinely enjoyable to use. The GE Revolution ACT 32‑slice CT scanner is due to go live later this year, and once the build is complete, they’ll operate with seven consult rooms and three theatres. These changes aren’t about growth for growth’s sake, but about matching clinical ambition and enhancing the quality of care.
The practice is led by an experienced vet and RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery, alongside Practice Manager. Together with a team of 10 vets, 8 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 4 VCAs, supported by dedicated client care and administrative colleagues, you’ll join a group with a strong professional identity and a friendly, down‑to‑earth attitude.
The facilities reflect the commitment to doing things properly. Orthopaedic work includes TPLO, ESF, locking systems and a Hall drill, and they are well equipped for monitoring and anaesthesia with multiparameters, portable capnography, syringe drivers and a generous supply of infusion pumps. Imaging and endoscopy include Doppler ultrasound, flexible scopes, Karl Storz capture and rhinoscopy, laparoscopy and arthroscopy equipment. They also use dental X‑ray, K‑Laser, nerve stimulation, EPOC blood gases and HT Vista technology for non‑invasive skin mass assessment. By late 2025, the dedicated CT suite and new clinical spaces will further elevate what they can offer. They’re also home to in‑house physiotherapy and hydrotherapy services.
Life in Milton Keynes offers green landscapes—over 4,500 acres of them—along with lakes, theatres, snow sports, climbing, indoor skydiving and fast connections to London in around forty minutes. And yes, the roundabouts really do mean you spend more time getting places and less time stuck in traffic.
