Job description

WHLandscape is a busy landscape practice based in the rural county of Wiltshire. Our small and friendly team specialise in providing landscape planning, arboricultural and landscape design services for public and private sector clients. We are currently looking for a Landscape Architect to join our team based in the historic market town of Devizes, close to the town centre.

We are interested in hearing from Landscape Architects with an interest in landscape planning and at least two years’ experience working in professional practice. Familiarity in undertaking landscape and visual assessment work (as stand‑alone reports and as part of larger ES projects), producing landscape mitigation and enhancement schemes (often in conjunction with BNG requirements) and confidence in liaising with clients and other professionals will be essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to run their own projects with management support and will be required to come into the office one day a week. Much of the focus will be on development proposals within valued landscapes and comprises a diverse array of interesting projects across a wide range of sectors.

Qualifications and attributes
  • BA in Landscape Architecture or related discipline and a post graduate diploma or MA in Landscape Architecture with, or working towards, CMLI.
  • Demonstrable professional experience of landscape architecture and in particular landscape planning.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
  • A good knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • A proven track record in working closely with clients and other professionals.
  • A current driving licence and the ability to travel to sites across the country.
  • Experience in providing evidence at planning appeals would also be useful.
