Job description

AIS have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start their career in quality control and laboratory testing. You will work closely with the current, well-established QA team, who will support your development through both training and mentoring. Our Lab Technicians assist with the testing of composite materials by carrying out laboratory studies.

Some knowledge of materials science and quality control testing will be an advantage but is not essential.

What Will You Do As Our Lab Technician
  • Following precise instructions in the preparation of a range of test samples and carrying out testing
  • Setting up all appropriate equipment for testing
  • Efficiently reporting on results from the studies and ensuring good standards of record keeping are maintained
  • Maintaining tools and equipment, including cleaning and safe storage
  • Maintaining high levels of housekeeping; taking pride in your working areas
  • Working in line with requirements of quality, health and safety, and environmental management systems
What Are We Looking For In Our Lab Technician
  • Confident in reading and understanding test methods and test plans
  • Capable of working to consistently high standards of accuracy
  • Eye for detail
  • Unfazed when working under pressure to strict deadlines
  • Enthusiastic self-starters with strong organisational skills
  • Clear communicators who can work well as part of a team and without constant supervision
  • Scientific background with experience of working in a laboratory team would be beneficial but not essential

This is a full-time, temporary position, with possibility of becoming permanent position, expected to last 12 months and working 37.5 hours per week. Working hours: 08:00-16:45 Monday-Thursday and 08:00-12:30 on Fridays.
