Overview

Laboratory Tech / assistant helping to collect, prepare, and analyse samples for environmental monitoring, water, and waste-related processes, maintaining equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and recording accurate data. Responsibilities include conducting routine tests, managing lab supplies, keeping equipment calibrated, and supporting senior laboratory staff and other teams with various laboratory and operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Sample Management: Collect, prepare, and test samples for analysis.
• Data & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities, equipment maintenance, and sample results.
• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all laboratory equipment and sensors are properly maintained, calibrated, and in good working order.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage reagents and consumables, anticipating and requesting upcoming purchases.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to strict health, safety, and welfare procedures and implement safety improvements in the laboratory area.
• Operational Support: Assist with process ramp-up, optimization, and various operational tasks for the commissioning team or other departments as assigned.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support by performing basic tests and presenting findings to senior staff.
