Qualifications

  • Knowledge of working within COMAH site requirements.
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor (not essential).

  • Record results and report to Laboratory Manager.
  • Perform daily quality checks and calibration of instruments.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Working as part of a small team responsible for the efficient and timely lab analysis of a range of pre‑acceptance waste chemical samples (techniques include: pH, colorimetry, titration, ICP, XRF, GCMS).
  • Recording results with care and reporting to the Laboratory Manager/Commercial Team.
  • Perform daily quality checks of instrumentation and report non‑conformities to the Lab Manager; responsible for calibration and troubleshooting of the equipment.
  • Monitoring environmental parameters around site and providing radiation protection supervision (training provided).
  • Follow SOPs and ensure compliance with site safety standards and proper sample handling procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments providing technical support and analytical guidance.
Qualifications
  • Degree / HNC in Chemistry or demonstrable skills obtained within a chemical laboratory.
  • Knowledge and experience of working within the requirements of a COMAH site.
  • Excellent work ethic with a drive to improve skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team.
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor (Not Essential).
  • Experience of the following techniques would be an advantage: ICP‑OES, GCMS, XRF.
