About the Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Kitchen Attendant to join our talented team of chefs in the main production kitchen, delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

As a Kitchen Attendant you will be responsible for assisting our chefs with the daily kitchen operation with key responsibilities for the role including:

  • Manual handling tasks such as manual dish washing, moving catering equipment, waste disposal and deep cleaning.
  • Ensure the kitchen is always in a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of cooking utensils and service crockery and utensils.
  • Maintain the equipment and utensils ensuring safe and correct operation, report any malfunctions and defects.
  • Contribute to team meetings and support and recommend changes to improve business and operating efficiencies.
  • Continually update knowledge and skills in the procedures and techniques and maintain a broad understanding of all sections of the kitchen.
  • Supporting and assisting fellow colleagues.
  • Identify environmental aspects within our operations and apply best practice principles to ensure pollution prevention, minimise waste and the conservation of natural resources.
What you’ll need to be successful
  • Full availability and flexibility to work a 7 day rotating roster including evenings, weekends & public holidays
  • Previous kitchen experience in a 4-5 star hotel/resort or similar hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of kitchen operations and cleaning practices
  • A genuine passion for food and cooking, positive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
  • Thrive in a large, busy & fast paced professional kitchen environment, with efficiency, organisation and attention to detail
  • Clear communication skills, can follow direction and work well in a team environment
  • Excellent personal presentation
