Kitchen Assistant (Part-time - Saturdays)

Responsibilities :
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of nutritionally balanced and attractive meals with due regard to resident preferences and special dietary needs.
  • Observe food hygiene regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment; tidy communal areas, wash, dry and storeall crockery, cutlery and utensils.
  • Maintain the kitchen, catering equipment and food storage rooms in a high state of cleanliness and tidiness.
  • Maintain all records and control stock rotation when on duty.
  • Work as part of a team and be willing to take on any task, within your capabilities, to provide an excellent service to ourresidents.
  • Attend meetings and training activities as required.
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you are required to perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.

About you :
  • You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have an empathy with them;
  • You must enjoy cooking and be able to cook and prepare food to a good standard; and
  • You should have a basic food hygiene certificate and a food-related qualification(this would bean advantage but is not essential).
  • You need to be able to workas part ofa teamin orderto provide an excellentserviceto our residents; and
  • You need to be a well-organised, practical and adaptable person.

Y ou do not necessarily have experience, although experience is an advantage, as long as you are caring and sensitive to the needs of others. We can give you the training you need as long as you have the willingness and dedication to learn.

Shift pattern : Part Time - 6 hours per week
