Overview

Our Kitchen Assistants focus on supporting the kitchen team in creating positively memorable dining experiences for our guests. This role reports directly to the Kitchen Manager and is based at our hotel in Taunton (TA1 2DL). Note: Some sources refer to this role as Kitchen Porter. Responsibilities

• Dishwashing: All dishes ranging from pots and pans to cutlery are either hand washed or loaded into the dishwasher.
• Delivery Organisation: Receive deliveries and ensure they are organised once in the kitchen.
• Storage Management: Keep storage organised so that ingredients are easily accessible.
• Waste Removal: Empty and dispose of waste promptly.
• Basic Food Preparation: When busy, assist with basic food preparation as directed.
• Material Collection: Support chefs by collecting materials or ingredients when needed.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Good physical fitness due to time spent on your feet and unloading heavy deliveries.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and be adaptable to meet the needs of the company and guests.
