Overview

Location: Downley, High Wycombe

Pay rate: £12.27 per hour

Contracted hours: 20 hours per week

The Heights care home was designed and built to enable the effective delivery of specialist nursing care, with a practical nursing unit on each wing. The home provides a bright, safe and modern living environment, with 75 individual rooms. There are many on-site facilities and plenty of communal and outdoor space to support a varied and stimulating activities programme for residents. We encourage residents to bring personal items from home to create a home-from-home feel.

About the role

We’re recruiting a Kitchen Assistant to join our catering team to create delicious meals, snacks and drinks for our residents. You’ll get to know our residents and understand their likes and dislikes so that mealtimes are a highlight of their day. You’ll work alongside a team dedicated to providing care, warmth and kindness to all residents and staff in our home.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve meals, snacks and drinks for residents in line with dietary needs and preferences.
  • Get to know residents, understand their likes and dislikes, and help make mealtimes enjoyable.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and follow food safety standards; contribute to a clean, safe cooking environment.
  • Collaborate with care staff to support residents and provide a positive dining experience.
  • Engage with residents to understand individual needs and work as part of the wider home team.
Qualifications
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
  • Willingness to learn and develop; good communication and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Commitment to high standards of kitchen hygiene and resident service.
