Key Account Manager - Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Act as the main day-to-day contact for the customer, building and maintaining a strong, solution-focused relationship
  • Lead and manage all aspects of a dedicated project, representing the customer's interests within the business
  • Submit and maintain customer documentation, trackers, and project updates in a timely and accurate manner
  • Attend customer reviews and meetings for ongoing and new projects, ensuring all deliverables are aligned
  • Support onboarding of new customers alongside the Business Development Manager
  • Liaise with production planning to coordinate schedules and ensure all orders are dispatched on time, in full (OTIF)
  • Maintain rigorous control over stock and consumables through system and physical checks
  • Oversee goods-in/goods-out processes and manage daily operations to achieve performance targets
  • Ensure timely and accurate entry of stock movements, job specifications, and quotes across multiple systems
  • Manage relationships with material suppliers, ensuring compliance with agreed terms and service levels
  • Prepare accurate customer quotations and submissions in line with briefs and internal guidelines
  • Ensure all distribution activities meet expected quality standards and delivery timelines
  • Strong operational knowledge, particularly within logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience in key account or project management
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with both customers and internal teams
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong understanding of stock control and supply chain operations
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other operational software systems
  • Strong numeracy and reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
