A Day In The Life

You will be joining the backend Development team at PetLabCo, reporting into the Lead backend Engineer. You will be helping to optimise backend tech stack, working on small tech projects such as updating APIs, creating new ones, creating and implementing new features and supporting on bigger initiatives.

You will have the opportunity to grow your technical skills with hands-on experience in a modern tech stack in a super-fast paced and exciting business environment. Your Day to Day

• Participate in daily stand-ups and peer code reviews

• Communicate progress, blockers, and technical challenges to the team

Requirements

What You Need

• Relevant degree (IT, Engineering etc) or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience working with backend technologies (Python, MySQL)
• Demonstratable project experience utilizing Python and MySQL or similar
• Basic understanding of programming languages and paradigms, with a willingness to take feedback and improve
• Enthusiastic self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with the team
• Passion for learning and to grow in a supportive environment
• Any exposure to the following technologies is a plus: Terraform, Microservices, API Gateway, Pydantic, Alembic, Lambda, or AWS Cloud
