A leading health and beauty retailer is looking for a Packaging Technologist to join their team in East Croydon. You will support packaging development aligned with ESG policies, ensuring product quality and compliance. The successful candidate will have a background in health & beauty packaging, excellent communication skills, and a passion for sustainability. Location: East Croydon (Head Office)
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week, 9:00am – 5:30pm – Hybrid working available (2 days from home, 3 days in office near East Croydon Station)

Working on a diverse range of products across FMCG Health & Beauty, the successful applicant will support the packaging technologist in NPD and packaging development in line with our ESG policy. With knowledge of price implications of pack changes, they will also look to improve cost prices while maintaining pack structure and functionality.
ESG
Support the delivery of Superdrug’s ESG goals and input into its continuing development.
Understand the changing landscape of packaging and recycling. Attend internal and external meetings, packaging shows, conferences, CSR talks, webinars and participate in comp shops.
Understand recyclability according to OPRL standards, reduce/avoid over‑packing and work with relevant project teams to improve.
Structural
Support packaging development of pack formats for structural integrity, brand alignment and on‑shelf presence.
Provide feedback and work with suppliers on any required amendments.
Artwork
Support in reviewing artworks for correct layout on cutter guide, print specification, FSC certification and recycling information in accordance with latest OPRL guidance.
Other
Use packaging and print knowledge to suggest ways to save on cost of goods.
Input in to process improvements.
Manage packaging data, specifications and approvals.
