Job description

We\'re looking for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join the Butlin\'s Buffets Department based in Skegness. Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will support the running of the kitchen and support in leading a large team of amazing chefs, and stepping up in the Kitchen Manager\'s absence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the running of the kitchen and assist in leading a large team of chefs, including stepping up in the Kitchen Manager\'s absence.
  • Monitor guest experience and develop action plans with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, run daily briefings, handle stock control and review food presentation.
  • Influence financial performance by delivering food cost budgets through effective menu planning, cooking to standards and specifications.
  • Support accountability for food hygiene standards and health and safety in line with legislation and company policies.
  • Be a role model for Butlin\'s values, ensure training schedules and performance development plans are in place, and inspire the team to deliver a great guest experience.
  • Lead and develop the skills of a team in our main buffet restaurant serving guests on a half-board dining package; capable of handling a fast-paced environment with large volume turnover (up to 3000 guests per service).
  • Be hard-working, reliable, and proactive in finding better ways for the team to consistently deliver brand standards.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, high-spirited, and fun-loving; build relationships with leaders and team on resort to unleash potential of the team.
  • Must have passed Level 3 Food Safety qualification and be confident in leading a team to deliver high standards in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Manage margins and costs and oversee health, safety and hygiene.
  • Work schedule: a 5-day working week over 7 days, 40 hours, including evenings and weekends; onsite accommodation is not provided.
