Job summary

A local IT company in Derry/Londonderry is seeking a Junior IT Support Engineer. Ideal candidates should have a passion for IT, strong communication skills, and basic troubleshooting knowledge. You will assist users in resolving problems and support new staff with their IT setup. This role offers flexible working hours up to 25 hours per week, with opportunities for additional hours.

Qualifications

• Must have a current UK Driving licence.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
• Experience with basic troubleshooting (even personal or school projects).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st line technical support via phone, email, and ticketing system.
• Log, track, and escalate incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network issues.
• Assist with setting up user accounts, devices, and applications.

Skills

Interest in IT and technology

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Basic understanding of computers, software, and networks

Familiarity with Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office and Hardware

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Education

GCSEs or equivalent
