Junior Service Engineer - Fire & Security (Entry Level)

Location: Glasgow & Central Belt

Salary: £25,000 - £32,000 + Training + Progression

Alecto Recruitment is proud to be working with a leading Fire & Security organisation that is expanding its Glasgow team. They are now seeking a Junior Service Engineer who is eager to learn, hands-on, and ready to build a long-term technical career in a rapidly growing industry.

This is a entry-level route into Fire & Security perfect for anyone with practical, electrical, or cabling experience who wants professional training and progression.

The Opportunity

As a Junior Service Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers to learn how to service, maintain and support:

  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • Intruder Alarms
  • CCTV Systems
  • Access Control

You’ll gain real field experience while developing the skills needed to become a fully qualified Fire & Security Engineer.

What Background Works Well? (Not essential)

  • Electrical Improver or Electrician background
  • 1st fix / 2nd fix installation experience
  • Cable pulling, routing or terminating
  • Patch panel/Networking knowledge (CAT5/CAT6)
  • General data cabling experience
  • Confident use of hand & power tools
  • Trunking, tray, conduit or basket installation
  • ECS/CSCS
  • IPAF / PASMA

If you've worked with tools or cabling, you're already on the right track.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Supporting senior engineers on service & maintenance visits
  • Assisting with system testing, inspections & compliance tasks
  • Helping with basic fault diagnostics
  • Preparing cabling and installation work
  • Completing simple service documentation
  • Travelling across Glasgow & the Central Belt (vehicle provided after training)
