Job Summary

This is a Junior Designer role being handled exclusively by Standard 8. It is a full time, permanent position based onsite in Guildford, paying between £26,000 and £30,000 per year. This is a proper junior role. Not junior in title only, not a greatest hits list of impossible requirements. It suits someone early in their design career who wants variety, pace and the chance to see their work actually go live rather than disappear into a shared drive forever.

You’ll be working across both digital and print, designing social media assets, ad creatives and campaign visuals, alongside brochures, flyers and event materials.

There’s also exposure to web visuals such as banners, icons and UI assets, plus the opportunity to get involved in light video or motion work if that’s your thing. You’ll be taking ideas from concept through to finished artwork while keeping everything consistent with the brand.

What we’re looking for
  • Comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Confident using Canva for fast turnaround marketing content
  • Some experience with Figma or a strong interest in learning it
  • A solid eye for layout, typography and colour
  • Strong attention to detail, the small stuff genuinely matters
  • Ability to take a brief and see it through from start to finish
  • A portfolio that shows creativity and personality, polish beats perfection
What you get from the role
  • A varied workload across print, digital, campaigns and web
  • Real responsibility and visibility, your work will be used and seen
  • Support, mentoring and room to grow as a designer
  • Flexitime, because rigid hours help no one
  • Company pension
  • Employee discounts
  • Private medical insurance
  • Health and wellbeing programme
  • Company events that are actually social, not endurance tests

The role is fully onsite in Guildford, so it suits someone who enjoys being part of a team in person. To apply, you’ll need to share your CV and a link to your portfolio or recent work. If it shows promise and personality, it will get a proper look.
